Subscription Update Obituary

   Dorothy M. (Leist) Davis, 70, of 16A Mayside Lane, died Friday, March 6, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital, 123 Summer St.


   She leaves her husband of 52 years, George J. Davis, Sr., her children, Dorothy Capone of California; Louise Weagle and Stephanie Thorin both of Worcester; Irene Dewitte of Millbury and George J. Davis, Jr., of Worcester; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of Catherine Leist and has lived in Worcester for many years.


   Mrs. Davis worked as a cashier for 10 years at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Park Ave. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Dorothy loved playing bingo and was known as “the chicken lady”.


   The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 10 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, March 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
