Subscription Update Obituary

     Dorothy J. (Gibbons) Torres, 72, of Worcester a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother died Monday, March 5th in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of 46 years, Osvaldo L. Torres; two daughters, Pamela J. Moscatelli of Shrewsbury and Michelle A. Kaiser of Ashland; four sisters, Elsie Garti of Palm Coast, FL, Isabel Tanacea of Sturbridge, June Negrete of San Diego, CA, Virginia McCarthy of Oxford and Marilyn Simonovitch of Palm Coast, FL; 5 grandchildren, Ryan Mohamed, Alex Mohamed, Nicholas Mohamed, Anthony Moscatelli and Jameson Moscatelli. She was predeceased by a brother, George Gibbons of Worcester; two sisters, Betty Meschke of Auburn and Nancy Martin of Palm Coast, FL.
     She was born in Oxford the daughter of George and Abigail (Hazard) Gibbons and attended Oxford High School. Mrs. Torres worked at The Mart, Zayre’s, Filene’s Basement and retired from Vanity Fair. Dorothy was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was a greeter. She was known for baking for her neighbors and for the church.
     The funeral is Tuesday, March 13th with a service at 10:00 AM in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1048 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, March 12th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
