Subscription Update Obituary

   Dorothy A. (Fitzgerald) McQuoid, 83, of 1459 West St., Pittsfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, surrounded by her three loving children. Her best friend and devoted husband Raymond F. McQuoid died in 1999.

   She leaves a daughter, Geraldine McQuoid of Pittsfield with whom she made her home since 2004, along with Catherine Chasse; her son, Raymond A. McQuoid and his wife Danna of Lee, and her daughter, Kathleen K. Gordon of Leicester; eight grandchildren, Kirsten wife of Todd Keeney of Rochdale, Amanda wife of Nick Rabar of Providence, R.I., Rebecca wife of Michael Remkus of West Palm Beach, Fl., Tyler Gordon and his wife Caryn of Holden, Luke Gordon of Waltham, Jacob Gordon of Austin, Tx., Jeremiah Gordon of Newton and Gary Harris of Pittsfield; two beautiful great grandchildren, Kira Lianna Remkus and Evan Raymond Gordon; and a sister Marguerite Reeves of Walpole.

   Born in Worcester, "Dot" lived in Leicester for fifty years. She was a beloved member of the community having been a clerk at the former Leicester Pharmacy for 26 years. She was an avid bowler and was very involved with the "Dawn Acres" Association. She volunteered as a softball coach and a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. Her favorite vacation spot was Misquamicut Beach where she loved "riding the waves". She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.

   Dot was loved by all who knew her, and will be fiercely missed.

   The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 12 p.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Fairview Hospital Patient Fund, 29 Lewis Ave., Great Barrington, Ma. 01230 or Bosler Humane Society, PO Box 12, Baldwinville, Ma. 01436.
