Subscription Update Obituary

     Dorothea Alfreda (Stultz) Shugrue, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2012 surrounded by her family.

     She leaves her beloved children, Andrea Shugrue of Worcester and William Shugrue and his wife, Colleen of Worcester; five grandchildren, Rachel, Brianna, John, Allison and James Shugrue; her brother, Ronald Stultz, Jr. and Nancy Young of Sturbridge and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dog, Tinkerbell.

     Dorothea was born in Worcester the daughter of Ronald and Dorothea (Phillips) Stultz. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1952, Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, Boston College School of Nursing in 1960 and received her Master’s in nursing from Anna Maria College in 1985. Dorothea worked for the City of Worcester for 40 years starting at Worcester City Hospital for 20 years and then went on to Worcester Vocational High School for another 20 years before retiring in 2000. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be missed dearly.

      Dorothea’s funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St.
