Subscription Update Obituary

Doris J. Cournoyer, 74, of 43 Waterman Road, died unexpectedly Friday, September 8 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

She leaves her sisters, Joan Boudreau of Worcester and Mary Finn, with whom she lived; three nieces and three nephews, several grand nieces and nephews and many friends. Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Dewey and Ella (Barbeau) Cournoyer and had lived in Auburn for more than 5 years. She graduated from Commerce High School and the Holy Ghost Nursing School, Cambridge. Miss Cournoyer worked for 21 years for the Astra Pharmaceutical Company, Westborough, before retiring in 1996. She was an active member of North American Martyrs Parish, Auburn, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. She had enjoyed volunteering with the senior citizens in Auburn and at the St. Francis Home, Worcester, through her visits and the sharing of her time.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, September 10 from 4-7 P.M. in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th, at 10 AM in the North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Little Franciscans of Mary, 55 Moore Ave., Worcester, MA 01602.
