     Doris H. (Darling) McCaffrey, 88, of 208 Treetop Circle, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

     She was born on May 3, 1919 the daughter of William and Flora (Kelsey) Darling. On October 9, 1945 she married Francis M. McCaffrey who was the love of her life for 62 years, he survives her. She leaves her two daughters, Jean P. and her husband Timothy J. Josti, Sr. of Spencer, MA. and Gail J. and her husband John C. Woodcock, Jr. of Jewett City, CT. She also leaves her four grandchildren who were her pride and joy; Mark E. Woodcock and his wife Suzanna of Central Village, CT., Jo-Ann L. Flynn and her husband Zachary of Griswold, CT., Timothy J. Josti, Jr. and his wife Tamara of East Brookfield, MA. and Heather A.J. Petraske and her husband Darren of San Diego, CA. She will be sorely missed by her six great-grandchildren who were the light of her life and her little angels; Mariah, Kiley, Ryan, Kieran, Cody and Logan. She leaves a nephew Richard McKinstry of Northboro, MA. and two nieces Joan Yankee of Vermont and Barbara Fongeallaz of Florida. In addition she leaves a dear friend, Helen Lucier of Auburn of whom she met while a member of the sorority Phi Epsilon Phi. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Hazel, Marion, Evelyn and her brother Richard and Harry. 
    
    
Doris resided in Worcester until retiring to the Cape 27 years ago. After graduating from Commerce High School she became a secretary for Thom McCann, Norton Co. and the Hoover Co. She enjoyed spending her time at the beach of where she spent most weekends and vacations with her family. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Centerville, MA.

     The funeral will be held Monday, October 15 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, October 14 from 3-6 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
