Subscription Update Obituary

    Doris (Elmer) Sherblom, 84, of 364 Reservoir St., died on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, in UMass Memorial Health Care, Belmont St., Worcester.

Her husband of 57 years, J. Howard Sherblom died in the year 2000. She leaves three sons, Bradford H. Sherblom and his wife Kathleen of Rutland, Gregory H, Sherblom and his wife Debra of Princeton and Douglas H. Sherblom and his wife Anne of Holden; a brother, Guy S. Elmer, Jr. of Holden; eight grandchildren, Laura Bradford, Timothy, David, Christopher, Jason, Jennifer, Adam and Ashley Sherblom; and nine great grandchildren. A sister, Beatrice Johnson predeceased her. She was born in Warwick, RI the daughter of Guy and Lena (Martin) Elmer and lived 68 years in Holden.

Mrs. Sherblom graduated from Holden High School and was a secretary in the administrative office for the Wachusett Regional School District. Previously, she was the secretary at the First Baptist Church of Holden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden and the Wachusett Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Holden.

The funeral service for Mrs. Sherblom will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 6, in the First Baptist Church of Holden, 1216 Main Street (Rte 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, (Rte 122A), Holden. Memorial contributions may be made the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church of Holden, 1216 Main St., Holden, MA 01520.
