Subscription Update Obituary

   Doria Edmond "Ed" Demers, formerly of 1 Samoset Rd, Worcester died peacefully March 31, 2009 in the Saint Francis Home in Worcester.

   His wife of 60 years, Constance L. (Lamontagne) Demers died on January 24, 2005. He is survived by his sister, Therese L. Griffin of Worcester, his brother, Sylvio P. Demers and his wife Helen, also of Worcester, as well as five nieces and nephews.

   Doria was born, raised and schooled in Worcester, was the son of the late Edmond S. and Laura B. (Grenier) Demers and lived here all of his life. He was graduated from Commerce High School in 1938. Following his graduation he spent many years as a salesman of men's clothing at the John C. Mac Innes Co., Berberian's Men's Shop and Eddy's of Park Avenue, all of Worcester, before joining The Mechanics National Bank where he supervised the Mail Room and Courier Service until his retirement. Doria was a lifelong communicant and lector of Saint Joseph Church.

   Relatives and friends are invited to attend Doria's funeral that will be held on Friday April 3 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday April 2 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryknoll Mission Society, P.O.
