Subscription Update Obituary

     Donna M. (Carney) Miller,75, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 while surrounded by her family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in West Brookfield.

     She leaves her son Robert V. Miller of Cape Cod and her daughter Terry M. Miller of Leicester, her grandson Kellan Groccia of Leicester, her brother Robert A. Carney and his wife Sally of Leicester, nieces Sarah Jane and her husband Anthony Brown of Leicester, Shannon Cotter and her husband Peter of Leicester, and a nephew Robert Carney and his wife Jarra of Reading, MA.

     Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Elwin and Bertha (Blanchard) Carney. She graduated from Leicester High School and attended the New Hampshire School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish.

     Donna was an administrative assistant at UMASS Memorial Medical Center for many years and later worked as a supervisor at AMSA before retiring in 2000.

     Donna was known for her love of family, her Irish Heritage, her hearty laugh, and for her story telling ability.

     The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Quaboag Rehab for the exceptional care given to Donna. Thank you Lynn, Donna, and the nurses and CNA’s on Unit 3a!

     The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb.15 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Quaboag Patient Activity Fund, 47 E.Main St.,West Brookfield, Ma.,01585.
