Donald R. Bray, 74, of Worcester, died on Saturday, February 12th, 2011 at his home, after a brief illness, while surrounded by his family.
His wife, Marilyn J. (Bradley) Bray, died in 1981. Donald is survived by his daughter, Roberta D. Bray – Enhus and her husband Eric of West Boylston; two grandchildren, Jillian and Joseph and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Merton and Josephine (Dauderis) Bray and is predeceased by a brother, Merton Bray, Jr. and a sister, Gail Braconnier.
Donald is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of the Boston Architectural Center and was a member of the AIA for many years. He started his career in Worcester working for several architectural firms. Honing his craft, before starting out in his own business DRB Architects in Worcester in the late 1980's, where he was successful and enjoyed his work until his retirement in October of 2010.
Mr. Bray was an avid golfer who spent many of his most enjoyable times, every year, with the BADGE Group; a group of family members that got together every year to golf and share many family stories.
He was an accomplished cook who also enjoyed playing pool, listening to music, the opera, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends, especially spending summer vacations with family at Wells Beach in Maine.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 16th at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Tuesday, February 15th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
