Donald P. Lareau, 76, of 383 Mill St. Worcester, MA died Monday, July 7th. He was born October 17, 1937 to Emile N. and Beatrice (Goyette) Lareau. He leaves two sons, Mark M. Lareau of Worcester, Joel M. Lareau of Cherry Valley, four daughters, Kim M. Wykes of Hubbardston, Danielle B. Lane of Dudley, Robin S. Flynn of Hubbardston and Jodi A. LaFleur of Worcester, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also leaves his two sisters, Joan Beley of Maine and Aline Catacchio of Webster, MA, one brother, Roland Lareau of Maine and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Ronald Lareau. Donald was a jazz drummer, making the jazz circuit around the country while his children were young, eventually playing only local clubs as his family grew. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. His greatest joy was listening to jazz music, writing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A private ceremony will be held in his honor. Arrangements are under the care of Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Mass) or call Marilyn DeSantis at (617) 580-8541.
