Subscription Update Obituary

     Dennis R. Brooks, Sr. 59 of Cherry St., died Friday, Aug. 1st. in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 12 years, Donna M. (Etre) Brooks, a son Dennis R. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Linda of Spencer, a step daughter Jennifer Figarsky and her husband Dean of Spencer and a stepson Romuald Blaszczyk and his wife Heather of Worcester, a brother Arthur Brooks and his wife Gloria of Barre, two sisters Eleanor Lucier of Spencer and Shirley Graveline and her husband Roger of Dudley, 6 grandchildren; Brian, Jonathan, Kylie, Elycia, Nicholas and Kaden, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Patricia Larson.

Dennis was a computer draftsman and most recently a supervisor at Babcock Power (formerly Riley Stoker) in Worcester for the past 40 years.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Romeo A. and Beatrice (Madelle) Brooks. He graduated from David Prouty High School , and earned an associate’s degree from Worcester Industrial Technical School and later a B.S. from Nichols College in Dudley. Dennis loved playing guitar, especially with his Wednesday night get togethers with his musical friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 147, Spencer, Ma. 01562.
