A few years ago I had debra as a teacher and she helped me so so much and I just cant believe that shes gone. She was such a caring person,who cared about everybody and I just want to thank her for giving me a good education and helping me. Thank you so much Mrs Thorell I will never forget you in my lifetime for helping me and please rest in peace.

WORCESTER— About 820 students and staff members of Quinsigamond Elementary School throw their hats into the air at the school yesterday in commemoration of teacher Debra Thorell, bottom photo, who died March 28 after a battle with cancer. Mrs. Thorell was famous for her hats. Mrs. Thorell, 52, of Holden, began teaching in 1976 in Boylston public schools before becoming a reading tutor at the Thomas Prince School in Princeton and finishing her career in Worcester.

debra, you were an outstanding human being. what you did for my son i cannot begin to put into words. you went above and beyond being a teacher and became part of our family. i cannot believe you are gone. he only takes the best....and you my lady, were the best...rest in peace deb, god bless your family.  donna
