Subscription Update Obituary

     Debra L. (Baker) Bonner, 45, of 6 Mayflower Circle, died at her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. She leaves her husband of 19 years, Donald R. Bonner, Jr.; her sons, Justin R. and Derek J. Bonner of Leicester; her parents, Donald R. and Janet (Belanger) Baker of Leicester; a brother, Chris Baker of Rutland; two sisters, Rebecca Montanari of Shrewsbury, and Nicole Baker of Worcester; nieces, Taylor Montanari and Betsy Scotia and nephews, Kevin Berg, Anthony Montanari and Michael Scotia; her in laws, Mary Bonner of Worcester and Donald Bonner, Sr. and Suzanne Bonner of Grafton. Special thanks to her sister in law and caregiver Denise Scotia for her devotion to Deb throughout her illness.

     Debra was a nurse at the Leicester Middle School and previously at The Memorial School for the past 6 years. She was born in Jessup, MD, and later graduated from Shrewsbury High in 1983. She then attended Worcester State College and graduated from Quinsigamond College with her nursing degree. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Leicester and sang in its’ choir.

     She was a very inspirational woman who touched many lives through her “Caring Bridge” and perseverance throughout her illness. The family would like to thank her oncologist Dr. Susan Campos and the Staff at Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston for their care and support.

     The funeral will be held on Friday, March 4 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1212 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, March 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, Ma. 02215 or Juvenile Diabetes Research, N.E. Chapter, 20 Walnut St., Suite 318, Wellesley, Ma. 02481.
