Subscription Update Obituary

    Dawn (Hadley) Jorgensen, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing Home. Her husband, Herbert F. Jorgensen, Sr. predeceased her. She leaves two sons: George Goodrich and Herbert Jorgensen, Jr. both of Worcester; five daughters: Dawn M. Goodrich of Braintree, Michelle Towle of Oxford, Holly Proulx of Webster, Rena Matchett of Northbridge and Karen Jorgensen of Worcester; two sisters: Virginia McCallum and Sandra Natale, both of Leicester; a half sister, Muriel Cox of Florida; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, including David Jorgensen whom she raised as a son. Four brothers: Robert, David, John and Richard Hadley predeceased her.

    She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John and Mabelle (Wesson) Hadley. Mrs. Jorgensen worked for many years as a licensed daycare provider, before retiring. She was an active member of Park Congregational Church. She was a member and former President of the Odd Fellows, Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Jorgensen was very proud of her accomplishment of receiving her G.E.D at 60 years old. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting for her family and various charities.

    Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, April 3 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Park Congregational Church, 111 Park Avenue, Worcester, MA 01602.
