David M. Daigle, 46, of Rutland, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 12, 2007.

He leaves his wife and childhood sweetheart, Nancy (McKeon) Daigle, and a son, Nicholas, 13, to whom he was eternally devoted. He is also survived by his father, Richard W. Daigle of Sturbridge; three brothers, Richard A. Daigle and his wife Karin of Princeton, Daniel J. Daigle and his wife Robin of Rutland and Douglas J. Daigle of Leicester; two sisters, Donna J. Daigle of Worcester and Debra M. Cleary of Oxford; as well as several wonderful nieces and nephews who adored him. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia A. (Powers) Daigle, in 2001.
David was born and raised in Leicester before moving to Rutland in 1989. He was a 1979 graduate of Leicester High School and worked as a machinist for many years before starting his own successful business, Daigle Plumbing & Heating.

David embraced life in Rutland and loved cheering on Nick’s baseball team. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. His many interests included motorcycling and snowmobiling. He liked nothing better than to go for a long ride on his Harley with his wife, Nancy. David was a self-made man who enjoyed life to the fullest. His infectious grin and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service for David will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A Celebration of His Life Ceremony will follow the service in the Rutland Sportman's Club, Pleasantdale Road, Rutland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the Nicholas Daigle Educational Fund, c/o Spencer Savings Bank, 93 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
