Subscription Update Obituary

David J. Peterson, 75, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill at home on Sunday. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Helen E. (Johnson) Peterson; a son, Scott D. Peterson and his companion Suzanne Valente of Northborough; a daughter, Pamela L. French and her husband Michael of Northbridge and two beautiful granddaughters who will miss their “Fuffy”, Charlotte E. and Allison L. French. He also leaves a sister, Karen J. Gaskin of Holden, godchildren and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Leicester, the son of Arvo and Aino (Seppi) Peterson, graduated from Holden High School and then earned a machinist certificate at Worcester Boys Trade. He served in the US Air Force Reserves for six years. David worked at Wyman Gordon in North Grafton for 30 years, retiring in 1996 and prior to that at Reed Rolled Thread in Holden. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

David was a 32nd Degree Mason and a 45 year member of the Morning Star Lodge. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Worcester and the Weary Travelers Club-Bourne and was an avid Red Sox and CB radio fan. David enjoyed camping, visiting Myrtle Beach, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 22 at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Thursday, April 21 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or donations in David’s memory may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114-2699.
