Subscription Update Obituary

  Daniel "Danimal" J. Checile, 18, of 176 West Street, died from injuries suffered in an ATV accident in Hardwick. He left his mother and stepfather, Brenda D. and Lawrence A. Smith of Barre; his father, Phillip M. Chechile of Springfield; a brother, Phillip M. Chechile of Barre; two sisters, Elise N. Chechile and Stephanie R. Chechile, both of Barre; his paternal grandmother, Mildred G. Chechile of Springfield; his maternal grandparents, Richard P. and Linda Whitney of East Longmeadow; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born in Springfield, Daniel lived most of his life in Barre. Daniel graduated from Quabbin Regional High School this June, and was to attend UMass Lowell in the fall on a music scholarship, majoring in sound recording technology. He was a member of Quabbin Jazz Band, Symphonic Winds, Singers, Chorus and in production with the Barre Players and the Quabbin High Pro-Musica. He was an avid guitar and tuba player, and loved to play bass in various local bands. He also played for the Bulldogs with the Quabbin Youth Football League. A funeral service was held in the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 South Barre Road, Barre, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
