Cynthia Jean Berling, 49, of Williamsburg Court, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester, after being stricken ill two weeks earlier.

She is predeceased by her father Donald S. Berling. Cindy is survived by her mother, Jane D. Berling of Paxton; a brother, Philip S. Berling of Douglas; two aunts, Jane T. Berling of Barnstable and Barbara Maxwell of Dennis; two uncles, Richard Libuda of FL and Nicholas Grande of Spencer; her close friends, Dick and Rose Skiermont of Paxton and John J. O’Leary and Verna L. Mims of Hopkinton; as well as many cousins and other friends.

Cindy was born in Worcester and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1980. Immediately after graduation she began her career in graphic arts, working in various printing shops in the Worcester area. For the last 21 years Cindy has worked for Print Works Inc. in Hopkinton where she achieved the position of Production Manager. Cindy’s greatest passion was helping other people. She supported many charitable foundations and was a follower of her faith. Cindy loved the outdoors, spending many days walking paths in the woods with her dad and planting flowers with her mom. Although Cindy loved all sports she was first and foremost an avid hockey fan, and was overjoyed when the Bruins won the Championship recently for the first time since she was ten.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mass General Hospital, Cancer Center, Attn: Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 or UMass Memorial Foundation, Critical Care Unit Fund, 365 Plantation Street, Suite 100, Worcester, MA 01605-2395. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
