Clifford L. Robbins, 80, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 15. His wife Ann (Stanley) Robbins died in 1992.
He leaves two children, Lorraine Castell of Worcester and Allen Robbins of Taunton; a brother, Kenneth Robbins of Cape Cod; a sister, Elaine Badrigian of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Ron Bullens, Patricia Setterlund, Leslie Castell and Stephanie Robbins all of Worcester, Chris Castell of Holden, Cynthia Kane of Fitchburg, Stacey Bishop of Manchester, NH and Sharon O’Connor of West Boylston; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. A son, Clifford L. Robbins, Jr. predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Clifford L. and Elsie (Kowalski) Robbins and graduated from Commerce High School and served in the US Navy as a machinist mate aboard LST 674 during WWII.
Clifford was employed by the City of Worcester for over 40 years, retiring in 1987 as the Assistant Director of the Street Department. Cliff was a longtime member of the Auburn Sportsman Club and the Pequiog Sportsman Club in Athol. He was an expert archer, winning many state and regional championships, titles, and awards. He was predeceased by his longtime friend and archer partner, Shirley Anderson of Auburn. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors and life. He loved spending time with family and friends.
