Clare (Fleming) Lamoureux, 93, formerly of 268 Clover St., Worcester died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Hermitage Nursing Home, Worcester. Clare was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to Worcester in 1947.
Clare's husband of 55 years was Roland G. Lamoureux who passed away in 2002. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Christine Lamoureux, of East Brookfield, Ma., another son, Vincent Lamoureux, and wife, Jane of Georgia, 4 grand-children, 7 great grand-children. Clare was one of 12 children and leaves two sisters, Mona Edwards of Manassas, VA, and Frances Keane of Melbourne, Australia.
Clare had worked for the City of Worcester, Purchasing Dept. as head clerk for 18 years, retiring in 1981. She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Parish, Auburn.
Clare was fondly known as the Irish Princess by her care givers and family. She will always be remembered for her Irish wit, her fondness for cross word puzzles, her hot cup of tea which she said was never hot enough, her love for her family, and devotion to her Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Friday April 11th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. The funeral follow on Friday with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
