Claire R. (Savio) Laffin,formerly of Methuen, MA passed away on July 24 after a long illness.
Claire leaves her son, Charles Laffin and daughter-in-law Fran Laffin of Worcester; daughter, Alice Farrell and son-in-law John Farrell of Pelham NH; daughter, Jacqueline Scanlon and son-in-law Frank Scanlon of Manchester, NH; son, Maurice Laffin and daughter-in-law Joyce Laffin of Worcester; and son, Thomas Laffin and daughter-in-law Linda Laffin of Clinton, MA; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Claire is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Michael Laffin with whom she was married for over 50 years.
Claire was born in Lawrence, MA on November 10, 1922. She graduated from Lawrence High School. Claire married her husband in 1942. They spent most of their lives in the Lawrence and Methuen area raising their family and later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Claire worked for Raytheon in Andover, MA for 30 years. Claire loved to read, travel, and go to the beach. She moved back to Worcester in 2002. She was a member of St. George’s church and was a devout catholic.
Claire battled Alzheimer’s disease for the past 5 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Watertown, MA. www.alzmass.org
The funeral will be held on Monday July 30 from Caswell King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St., Worcester. Calling hours will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m at the funeral home followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m at St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in the Worcester County Memorial Cemetery, Paxton.
