Christine Louise (Coyle) Bergeron 76, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister and friend passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Stratham, New Hampshire on July 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. The family would like to thank Beth Israel Lahey Hospice for their compassionate care.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Chris was the daughter of the late Shirley M. (Young) Hanson and William F. Coyle. She grew up in Worcester and graduated from North High School in 1966. She was a woman of remarkable warmth, grit and determination—a tough and strong soul whose resilience shaped the lives of everyone who knew her.

In 1972, Chris married her soulmate, Norman A. Bergeron. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, hard work and deep affection, celebrating 53 wonderful years of marriage. They raised their family and created a loving home in Leicester, MA where Christine worked as a Customer Service manager for Shaw’s Supermarket for 23 years.

Chris filled her life with the people and moments that meant the most to her—family beach days, camping trips and spirited games of Pitch with her lifelong friends Paula and Billy Budreau — games that often ended with more laughter than winners, and occasionally a suspiciously lucky hand or two.

One of Chris’ greatest joys was hosting Sunday family dinners, a tradition later showcased in her favorite television show, Blue Bloods. These gatherings brought her children—and later, her grandchildren—around the table, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and family remained at the heart of it all.

She shared a deep and enduring friendship with her dearest friend Paula. As Christine said, “Throughout most of my life, my dearest friend, Paula, was by my side.” Their bond was a constant source of strength and joy, lasting decades and carrying them through every chapter of life—from motherhood through retirement.

In 2010, Christine and Norman retired to Homosassa, Florida, along with Paula to join her closest cousins Gloria Richard and Pat Kobel. There, they built a vibrant and loving community, enjoying music, dancing, traveling, puzzles, and countless shared memories with dear friends. Their friendly debates over just how high the thermostat should be were a regular part of the fun.

Chris was not only strong in spirit—she was a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and community involvement. She served on the Personnel board in Leicester, and was an active leader in her local social club in Homosassa -, serving as both Vice President and President. She organized charitable events like the Diva Lunch-In and Whist tournaments—always with a clipboard in hand, a schedule to follow, and absolutely no patience for late RSVPs—always looking for ways to bring people together and give back.

She is survived by her children: Kim (Douglas) Wood, Kenneth Andrews, Norman J. (Kelly) Bergeron and Brandi Bergeron; grandchildren: Christopher, Samantha, and Mclain Bergeron, Julia (Ryan) Boyle, and Natasha (Mitchell) Ouimette; and four great-grandchildren. Christine also leaves behind her siblings: Thomas (Annette) Castonguay, Susan Smith, Donna (Derek) LaCourse, Mark Castonguay, Stephen Coyle, Dennis (Ashlyn) Coyle, and Bill (Darlene) Coyle, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Michael and Daniel Coyle, and her granddaughter Melissa Wood.

Christine’s legacy is one of strength, love and fierce devotion. She was tough when she needed to be, strong through life’s many challenges, and endlessly generous with her time and heart. And if you ever doubted that, she’d have told you—politely, but directly—exactly where you went wrong. She leaves behind a family who will forever try to live up to her example—and probably never master her gravy recipe.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 11 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park – Paton in Paxton, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connections Peer Support Center, 554 Islington Street, Portsmouth NH 03801 in honor of Christine’s compassion and commitment to supporting others.
