Subscription Update Obituary

   Christine H. (Szerejko) Shenette, 87, formerly of 521 Grove St., died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 in Holy Trinity Easter Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Henry A. Shenette died in 1985.

   She leaves a daughter, Cynthia A. Shenette and her husband, Paul M. Yaneshak of Holden; a brother, Robert A. Szerejko of Orleans; her grandson, Christian M. Yaneshak of Holden; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Helene C. Dingle. Christine was born in Worcester, a daughter of Adolf and Anna (Bulak) Szerejko and lived here all her life.

   Christine was a graduate of Commerce High School and Becker Junior College. She worked for the Ration Board during World War II and also worked for the United States Department of Agriculture. Christine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, painting, traveling, and was an avid reader. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Christian. She will be greatly missed. Christine’s family would like to thank the staff of Holy Trinity for their wonderful care over the last four-and-a-half years.

   A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 3 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Christine’s memory to either, NEADS, Canines for Combat Veterans, at NEADS, P.O. Box 213, West Boylston, MA 01583 or Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation, 300 Barber Ave., Worcester, 01606.
