Charles W. Gleason

WORCESTER: Charles W. Gleason, Sr., 81, of 28 Commonwealth Ave., formerly of Prospect St., died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, in Radius Healthcare Center at Worcester, after developing complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Jackie (Collette) Gleason; two sons, Charles W. Gleason Jr. and his wife Kathy of Palm Harbor, Fl., Shawn M. Gleason and his wife Kathy of Worcester; two daughters, Linda Kupstas and her husband Steven of Auburn, Christine Mezzoni and her husband Edward of Windsor Colorado; a sister, Frances DiPerrio of Holden; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Sandra Frenette, died July 7, 2000.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Herbert and Delia (Butler) Gleason. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a former member of American Legion Post 138 in Spencer, and the 40 + 8 Voitre 1113. He loved animals and spending time with the family pets.

Charlie was a maintenance worker for 17 years at the former Shawmut Bank, until retiring in 1989. He previously worked 28 years as a truck driver of wholesale groceries.

THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in WORCESTER COUNTY MEMORIAL PARK, Paxton, MA.

The family suggests donations in Charlie’s memory be made to the Activities Fund of Radius Healthcare Center at Worcester, 119 Providence St., Worcester, MA 01604.
