Subscription Update Obituary

   Charles H. Suffill, 79, passed away on October 22, 2008 after an illness. His wife of 27 years, Sharline (Lescord) Suffill passed away in 2002. Charles leaves his son Charles Suffill, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Pasadena, MD and daughter Charlotte (Suffill) Malmquist and her husband John of Grafton. He is survived by his brother Robert Suffill of Florida and sister Dorothy Heath of South Carolina. His brother, George Suffill, predeceased him. Charles also leaves 4 grandchildren, Jeremy and Tiffany Malmquist and Rachael and Laura Sulfill, and one great-grandchild, Xavier Smith along with several nieces and nephews.

   Charles was born April 19, 1929 in West Boylston, MA, the son of the late William and Winifred (Oatway) Suffill. He grew up in Worcester, attending Worcester Boys Trade School before joining the U.S. Army at age 17. Charles served in the European theatre during World War II. Following the war Charles worked as a machinist for the Wright Machine Corporation in Worcester for 47 years before retiring in 1997. He was an active member of the VFW and the Auburn Sportsman Club as he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Charles also enjoyed trips to the casino with friends, including several to Foxwoods, Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

   Funeral & Calling Hours

   The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 29th from The Roney Funeral Home – South Chapel, 124 Main Street, South Grafton, at 10 am. All are invited to a visitation hour at the funeral home from 9 – 10 am on Wednesday October 29th. Charles will then be laid to rest with military honors at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
