Subscription Update Obituary

Cecilia (Chouinard) Soroka, 80, of 425 Pleasant St., passed away at UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus on Sunday, August 6th. Her husband Walter Soroka died in 1964. She is survived by two sons, Richard G. Soroka and his wife Maureen and Walter R Soroka and his wife Nita of Worcester; two daughters, Cheryl A Bolvar of Malden, and Marian P. Miskinis of Worcester; four grandchildren, Alec Sleeper, Shelly A. Soroka, Robert W. Soroka and Richard G. Soroka, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren, Mikayla King, Kathleen Soroka, Abigail King and Ryan Soroka. She is predeceased by a son, Alec J. Soroka, a brother, Arthur Chouinard Jr. and two sisters, Frances Cook and Mary R. Chouinard, and a son-in-law Edmund Miskinis.

Cecilia was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Lynch) Chouinard and lived here all her life. She was a presser and folder for many years, retiring in 2002 after 20 years of work, from Coyne Textile Company. She attended schools in Worcester. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church. Cecilia enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, August 11, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL SERVICE, 33 Ward St., with a 11:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Loreto, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be in the funeral home on Thursday, August 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
