Catherine M. (Lyons) Handley, of Holden, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 7th 2010, surrounded by family.

    Catherine is survived by her family, her husband of 32 years, Robert E. Handley; her children, Thomas Ohman and his wife Gayle of Worcester, Catherine Peters and her husband Jonathan of Holden, and step-son, Robert Handley of Leicester; a sister, Mary Bryant and her husband R.V. of Worcester; six cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa, Cindy, Jamie Lynn, Thomas Jr., Jonathan, Matthew, Rami, Kristy, and Jean; two great grandchildren, Dante and Dorian; a niece Donna Morse; great niece and nephews; and her former husband, Philip Ohman. Born in Worcester, Catherine was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Mattrick) Lyons. She graduated from Commerce High School, lived in Worcester until moving to Holden 25 years ago.

    Catherine was a gentle soul and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished the time spent with family and will be sadly missed.

    Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Detachment of the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester 01603. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester is handling arrangements.
