Subscription Update Obituary

    Catherine G. (Dougall) Cabana, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 in Christopher House of Worcester.

    Catherine is survived by her children, Linda Dube of Charlton, Mary Jane Perec of St. Petersburg, FL, John Cabana of Largo, FL and William Cabana of New London, CT; a son in law, Joseph Perec of Worcester; a sister, Doris Rondeau of Worcester; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; nieces and a nephew. Catherine was pre-deceased by a brother, James Dougall and two sisters, Lillian Scott and Margaret Pozzessere. Born in Worcester, daughter of William and Adjana (Chabot) Dougall, she attended Worcester Public Schools and has lived here all her life.

    Catherine worked for many years for the Worcester Public Libraries. She was a member of the former Notre Dame Church (now Holy Family) and the Worcester Senior Center. She won the Miss Plymouth Beauty Pageant in the 1940's, which she enjoyed talking about; she liked to dance at the Old Johnny Hine's Dance Hall, going to Hampton Beach, dining out, drawing, and her family. She will be missed by each one of us. God bless you Catherine. Rest in Peace.

    Her family would like to offer a special thank you to the wonderful people at The Christopher House, her caregivers, Elder Services and the VNA Hospice.

    Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5, at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, (Saint Joseph), 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, prior to departing for church.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Church, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
