Subscription Update Obituary

    Catherine A. (Nugent) Mulcahy, 70, of 167 June St., died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, with her family by her side at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, after a long illness. Her husband of 42 years, Francis J. Mulcahy, died December 28, 2003. She leaves a son, Sean F. Mulcahy of Worcester; two daughters, Kathleen E. Nodurft and her husband Andrew of Worcester, Erin P. Bisnette of Paxton; 2 brothers, R. Paul Nugent and W. James Nugent; a sister, Mary Patricia Sacco and her husband Alfred, all of Worcester; 6 grandchildren, Connor, Seamus, Liam and Riley Bisnette, Madison and Sean Nodurft: and many nieces and nephews. Her son-in-law, Mark D. Bisnette, died January 2, 2010. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Roger A. and Helen E. (Ramey) Nugent and was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School.

    Catherine worked part-time at the accounting firm of Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull and Bitsoli for many years. Her primary joy in life was raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. She enjoyed shopping with her sister on Sundays, lunching with her girlfriends, and swim classes at the Greendale Y. She spent her summers relaxing with her family at Hampton Beach.

    CALLING HOURS are 4 to 7 P.M. on SUNDAY, APRIL 11 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on MONDAY, APRIL 12 at ST. CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH, 341 June St., followed by burial at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA. The family suggests donations in memory of Catherine be made to the Gynecologic Oncology Clinic, c/o the UMass Memorial Foundation, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
