Subscription Update Obituary

     Carol A. (Vernon) Goddu, 59, of 3 Chambers St., Worcester, and Freedom, N.H., a hairstylist and avid gardener, died yesterday in her Worcester home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 38 years, Ernest G. Goddu; a son, Allen D. Goddu of Keene, N.H.; a daughter, Dian M. Lewczyk of Worcester; two brothers, Cyril Vernon of Tuscarora, Md. and Bruce Vernon of Warwick, R.I.; two sisters, Mary Etienne Vernon of Framingham and Jane R. Vernon of Freedom, N.H.; and three grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Frederick and Stella (Etienne) Vernon, and lived in Freedom, N.H., and here for the past 15 years. She graduated from South High School in 1953, and attended Brom’s Academy of Hairdressing.

Mrs. Goddu was a hairstylist at Hair ‘n There in Lincoln Village for many years. She previously worked for Rob Roy Hair Salons.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow in St. Christopher’s Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak St., Worcester, 01609. Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., is directing arrangements.
