Subscription Update Obituary

Carla May (Cashin) Clark, 95, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in Beaumont of Worcester. Her husband, Walter D. Clark, predeceased her in 1975.

Carla is survived by four nephews, Francis D. Barry and his wife Annette of Shrewsbury, Richard Barry and his wife Anna of Lady Lake, Florida, Richard Cashin and James Cashin and his wife Margaret all of Glendale, AZ; she also leaves great nieces and great nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Cornelius and Lena May (Coyer) Cashin and has lived here all her life. She served her nation proudly in the United States Army, during World War II, in the 105 Hospital Company.

She retired from the State Employment Office in 1981, where she had been working as a telephone operator. She had previously worked at Telechron Company, and left there when she was the chief telephone operator. She was Past President of Local 648 A.F.S.C.M.E.-CIO. She was also a member and Past President of an American Legion.

Calling hours for Carla will be held on Tuesday, August 9, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNEAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, where Military Funeral Honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Sweetpea Animal Shelter, 338 Pommogussett Road, Rutland, MA 01543.
