Subscription Update Obituary

    Carl E. Boquist, Jr., 82, of Maple Ave., died Saturday, January 16, 2010 in his home.

    He leaves a son, Carl E. Boquist III and his fiancée Michelle Carter of Spencer; two daughters, Elaine Doud of Worcester and Rebecca Sibilia and her husband Timothy of Brooksville, FL; two sisters, Inez Kennedy of Rutland and Shirley Dickman of Jefferson; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Boquist, Stephanie Abbott, Cheryl Ingram, Jillian Boquist and Brandon Sibilia; several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his son-in-law, Richard Doud. He was born in St. Albans, Vermont, the son of Carl E. and Edith (Montcalm) Boquist and lived most of his life in Rutland.

    Carl worked at Worcester Tool and Stamping Co. in Worcester for over 50 years where he was still employed. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and the Rutland Lions Club. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Doneff.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral service for Carl will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rutland Lion's Club, P.O. Box 626, Rutland, MA 01543.
