Subscription Update Obituary

  Calvin A. "Sonny" Confer, 64, of 52 Queen St., a retired cement finisher, died Monday, April 23, at home after an illness.

  He left his wife of 47 years, Jeannine (Pallas) Confer who passed away on February 27, 2007; seven sons, Michael Confer of Grafton, John, Nico and Reno Confer, all of Worcester, Gregory Confer of Akwasasni, N.Y., Calvin Confer of Spencer and Christian Confer of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Dawn Cassidy of Allegan, Mich., Sharilyn Poston, Gabrielle Saez and Lisette Bain, all of Worcester; two brothers, Guy Confer of Erieville, N.Y., and Joseph Confer of Oxford; two sisters, Lenora Jones of Syracuse, N.Y., and Betty LaPierre of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 45 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, James Confer of Akwasasni, predeceased him. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., son of Harry and Julia (Gray) Confer, he lived most of his life in Worcester.

  A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There were no calling hours. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., directed arrangements.
