Blanche M. (Castell) Hill, 95, a lifelong resident of Worcester, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in UMass Memorial Healthcare after living a long and fruitful life. Her husband of 44 years, Robert F. Hill, Sr., died in 1975.

She leaves her son, Robert F. Hill, Jr. and his wife Joan of West Hartford, CT; three grandchildren; three nieces.

Mrs. Hill was born in Worcester, the daughter of Henry and Eliza (Domey) Castell. She lived life until the end in her own home with little aid from dear friends and neighbors. She enjoyed her yard and gardens, which she nurtured and maintained herself. When not in her yard, Mrs. Hill was crocheting, cooking or doing a craft. She was always busy and very much embracing life until it was over.

Mrs. Hill will be missed, but her spirit will live on within us. Ivan would like to thank the staff at UMass for their kindness and care.

A memorial Mass in her name will be said on Thursday, August 26th at 8:00 AM in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
