Beverly B. (Bradish) Preston, 71, of East Brookfield, was called Home by the Lord on Friday, October 27th at Overlook Masonic Health Care Center, Charlton after an extended illness. She leaves her husband of 44 years, Roy P. Preston Jr.; 2 sons, Roy P. Preston III and his wife Julie of East Brookfield and Mark E. Preston and his wife Sandra of Oxford; 3 grandchildren, Timothy M. Preston and Casey R. Preston of Oxford, and Lauren R. Preston of East Brookfield; a sister, Barbara J. Whitson of Worcester; her mother-in-law, Naomi M. Hegener and a sister-in-law, Doris M. Heaberlin, both of FL; an aunt, nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Elliott E. and Blanche C. (Floyd) Bradish, and graduated from the former Girls Trade School as a printer. She worked at the former Woodbury Company as a press operator, New England Telephone Co. as a long distance operator, and Morgan Construction Co. as a receptionist and switchboard operator. She lived most of her life in Worcester before moving to East Brookfield more than 15 years ago. She also lived in Hawaii for more than 2 years, while Roy was in the Navy. Beverly was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. We feel privileged to have had such a special woman as a part of our family. She was respected by all who knew her and will be missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, finances and being with her family. May the Lord grant her the eternal life and peace that she so diligently earned while she was with us. Beverly was a member of the First Congregational Church, North Brookfield.
The funeral service and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family and at Beverly’s request, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, is directing arrangements.
