Subscription Update Obituary

    Betty E. (George) Pavolis, 87, formerly of Worcester died on Tuesday September 1st in the Akron Care Center after a brief illness. Her husband John M. Pavolis died in 1998. She is survived by a son Charles Pavolis of Worcester; a daughter Carol Palmer of Akron, IA; a brother William George; a sister Helen Habben; two grandsons Eric and Gregory Palmer all of Iowa and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Pavolis was born in Fort Dodge, IA daughter of William and Ellen (Crellin) George and is predeceased by a brother Clair and 3 sisters Celia, Lorraine and Delores.

    Betty served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a founding member of the Women in Military Service Memorial. After retirement Mrs. Pavolis enjoyed making stuffed animals and exhibited them at various town fairs where she won multiple awards. She worked for the Worcester Public Schools.

    A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 10 AM in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are in the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, September 4th. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
