Subscription Update Obituary

Bertha I. (Modig) Larson, 92, of Shrewsbury formerly of Millbury died Wednesday, April 11th in Shrewsbury Nursing Home after an illness. Her husband, Everett Larson, died in 1977.

She leaves a daughter, Eleanor B. and her husband, Robert A. Sargent, Sr., of Shrewsbury; a granddaughter, Debra Mead of Eastham and a grandson, Robert A. Sargent, Jr., of Jacksonville, Florida; five great grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Matthew, Nathan and Heidi; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Wahlstrom and three brothers, William, Herbert and Raymond Modig.

Mrs. Larson was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carl and Tekla (Lindgren) Modig and had lived in Millbury for 85 years before moving to Shrewsbury.

Bertha was a charter member of former Raymond Memorial Congregational Church in Millbury and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star that is affiliated with the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons in Millbury. She had several hobbies including, making braided rugs, fishing, boating, cooking and spending her summers on Cape Cod.

Bertha's family wishes to thank the Nurses at the VNA Care Network in Worcester and the entire staff at Shrewsbury Nursing Home in Shrewsbury for taking such wonderful care of their mother and grandmother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service for Bertha on Saturday, April 21st at 12 NOON in Worcester County Memorial Park, Richards Avenue, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made to the Patient's Activity Fund at the Shrewsbury Nursing Home, 40 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury.
