Bernard Joseph Cunningham, 73, of Murrels Inlet and formerly of Leicester died peacefully at his residence on April 20, 2012. He leaves his son Kevin M. Cunningham and his wife Lu-Ann of Moosup, CT; three daughters, Robin Biscelglia of Fla, Susan L. Jyringi of Fla, and Gail M. Foster of Norwich; 9 grand and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. His wife of 52 years, Vivian G. Cunningham predeceased him on May 29, 2008.
     Bernard was born in Cambridge, MA on July 21, 1938. Bernard grew up in Dorchester, and was the son of Edward and Rose Cunningham. He joined the Navy and served 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer. He was known for his love of old television shows, music, and dining out at his favorite buffets. He also loved taking walks on the beach.
     Private funeral services will be held in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. There are no calling hours.
