Subscription Update Obituary

   Bernard A.D. Johnson, 22, of Worcester, passed away, Wednesday, August 30th in Cambridge Hospital, from injuries suffered when he was robbed, and shot several times in Somerville.

   Bernard is survived by his two children, Bernard A.D. Johnson, Jr and Niiyel Johnson both of Worcester, their mother, Tanika Fontanez; his father, Lester S. Smith of Rockville Maryland, his mother, Avis Johnson of Philadelphia; five brothers, Michael Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Rashad and Owen Minor and Hayden Johnson; four sisters, Shaquita Johnson, Daphne Smith, Idaliana Smith, and Lisa Johnson; his paternal grandmother Daphne Phillips and paternal grandfather Lionel Smith; his maternal grandfather William Johnson, and his maternal grandmother Willa Mae Lewis; many Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Worcester. Bernard enjoyed playing basketball, and was a Boxer, at the Ionic Ave Boys Club.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 7th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the funeral.
