Subscription Update Obituary

   Benson Williams, 82, of Reservoir St., Holden, died peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester, Massachusetts.

   He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lorraine M. (Galleani) Williams; his son, Damon Williams of Revere, MA; his daughter, Valerie Armstrong of Mt. Sinai, NY; his daughter-in-law, June Zhang; his son-in-law, Steven Armstrong and three beloved grandchildren, Lt. Jacob Williams, of Beavercreek, OH; his wife, Kathleen Williams; Melanie Armstrong and Emily Armstrong, of Mt. Sinai, NY.

   He was born in Boston, son of Louis and Mae (Rosenberg) Williams, and lived in Setauket, NY before moving to Holden in 1974. Mr. Williams was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as a pharmacist mate. He was a 1951 graduate of Boston College and was a General Manager for New York Life Insurance Company when he retired in 1996. He was an avid golfer and Jazz fan. He was a very early proponent of the computer and volunteered and taught computer at the Holden Senior Center in Holden, MA.

   The funeral service for Benson Williams will be held at 1pm on Monday, April 28th, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial immediately following at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Home Hospice, 631 Salisbury Street, Worcester, Massachusetts 01609.
