Benny B. Prevatt, 69, of Gardner formerly of Worcester, now in heaven, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 28th, where all grief is over and every restless night has passed.
Benny leaves his devoted family; his wife of 38 years, Esther M. (McGrath) Prevatt; his children: Janice Gainey and her husband, Greg, Benny Prevatt, Jr. of Florida, Mary Sauvageau and her husband, Phillip, Debra Whitman and her companion, Michael LeBlanc, Ralph Sumblin, Nancy Mann and her husband, Luke all of Gardner, Ann Bergeron and her husband, Michael of East Brookfield, Sandra Roy and her husband, Michael, John Prevatt and his wife, Jennifer all of Worcester; four brothers: Henry and Charles Prevatt in California, James and Robert Prevatt in South Carolina; twenty one grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Benny was born in Jacksonville Florida, a son of Arthur and Nina (Slaughter) Prevatt. He lived many years in Worcester before moving to Gardner eleven years ago.
Benny worked as area manager for the Hess Oil Company Gas Stations many years before retiring. He was also a 20-year member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, retiring as a Staff Sergeant with the 1st Bn 110th Armor in Worcester in 1992.
He was a devoted family man who loved to hunt, fish and play poker. His wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest source of pride and enjoyment.
