Subscription Update Obituary

     Benjamin F. Halsdorff, 91, of Worcester died Monday, January 30th in the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence. His wife, Gloria T. (Menard) Halsdorff died in 1988. He leaves two sons, Russell J. Halsdorff and his wife, Barbara of Apple Valley, CA and Dennis J. Halsdorff and his wife, Jean of North Oxford; two sisters, Gladys R. Bottomly of Worcester and Evelyn M. Hafler of Apple Valley, UT; eight grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Melissa Halsdorff, Amanda Halsdorff, Colleen Palacios, Erin Halsdorff, Meaghan Oldenburg and Dennis Halsdorff II and a great grandson, Hunter Oldenburg, a daughter in law, Ellen Halsdorff of Douglas, several nephews and nieces, and his close companion, Elizabeth Fox with whom he lived. His son, Richard P. Halsdorff; two brothers, George W. and John M. Halsdorff and his sister, Daisy M. Halsdorff predeceased him.

     Mr. Halsdorff was born in Oxford, MA, the son of Matthew and Martha W. (Binley) Halsdorff. He was a graduate of Worcester Boy’s Trade and worked as a machinist for 40 years at Crompton and Knowles, retiring in 1986. Benjamin was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII.    

     His funeral is Saturday, February 4th with a service at 10:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Friday, February 3rd from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
