Beatrice "Memere" (Tremblay) Zawielski, 82, formerly of 120 Pilgrim Ave, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 14th in the University Commons Long term care Center.
Beatrice is survived by her husband of 58 years, Chester S. Zawielski; three daughters, Joanne Brown and her husband Barry of Hubbardston, Paula Krakowski and her husband Keith of Lake Worth, FL, Lois Adams and her husband Dennis of Worcester; a brother, Alex Tremblay of Auburn; a sister, Rita Prevost of Holly, NY; six grandchildren, Krystyna, Nathan, Heidi who was her principal caregiver, Rachel, James and Julie; three great-grandchildren, Kodi, Evan, Simon: nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Alexander and Marie Rose (LaFrenaye) Tremblay.
Beatrice was a life long member of Grafton Hill. During World War II, Beatrice worked for Reed & Prince Company and was known as one of the famed "Rosie the Riveters". Beatrice worked more than 23 years for the St. Francis Home before retiring.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, a member of the famed Committee to save St. Joseph Church in the 1990's. She loved to sew, be around her family, relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 17th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 9:30 a.m in St. Joseph Church, 41 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Friday, February 16th from 5 p.m to 8 p.m in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
