Barbara M. (Harris) Scavone, 85, of Manchester, died Sunday, October 18th. Her husband of 38 years, Charles A. Scavone, Jr., died in 1989. She leaves her daughter, Rosemary Landry, wife of the late Russell W. Landry of Vernon, CT; and several nephews and nieces.

    She was born in Bellows Falls, VT, the daughter of John L. and Mary E. (Shrewbrooks) Harris. Mrs. Scavone was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade School; and had worked as a welder for Wyman-Gordon during World War II. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church; and while in Worcester had been a member of several bowling leagues. She loved gardening, tending to her yard, cooking and baking.

    The funeral is Thursday, October 22nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 12:30 PM in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. A visitation period will be held from 11:00 AM until Noon the day of the funeral in the funeral home.
