Subscription Update Obituary

    Barbara E. (Morgan) Achorn, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her beloved husband Everett of 60 years died in 2002. She leaves her three children, Susan McCabe and her husband Robert of Marlborough, Laurie Warner and her husband William with whom she lived of Worcester, Chip Achorn and his wife Tina of Bolton. She leaves four siblings, Ann Arey of Bethesda, MD, Charles Morgan of Norwell, MA, David Morgan of Hudson, MA and Ruth Johnson of Marion, MA.

    She leaves eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

    Barbara was born in Vergennes, Vermont daughter to the late Melvin and Ruth (Stebbins) Morgan. She graduated from Classical High School and Salter Secretarial School. She was a member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, member of the Outdoor Sports Club for more than 40 years and a former member of the Worcester Country Club.

    The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 10:00 a.m in St. Luke's Church, 921 Pleasant St. in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the UMASS Memorial Hospice (who the family expresses their deepest gratitude for their support) at 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605 or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115, or Boston Children's Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn Street, #731, Boston, MA 02215. Caswell-King Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
