Subscription Update Obituary

    Barbara A. (Bonovetto) Shurick, 73, of Savory Crossing, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Joseph Raymond Shurick of North Oxford, who died in 1992.

    She is survived by two children, Barbara A. Moody of Oxford and Richard J. Shurick of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Amaya Shurick and Katrina Shurick of Jacksonville, FL, and James Wahlstrom of Oxford; a great grandson, Brandon Wahlstrom of West Warren; and several cousins.

    She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Carmen and Anna (Pratash) Bonovetto, and lived in Worcester before moving to North Oxford 50 years ago.

    Mrs. Shurick was a waitress at Worcester Country Club for over 20 years, retiring 10 years ago. She loved dancing, watching the Red Sox, Dancing with the Stars, and old movies. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

    A funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, May 17, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
