Barbara Riser, 66, passed away June 13, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her sister and best friend Alice Shackelford, her sister Erma J. Chester and husband James, and four best friends she cherished the most.

Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Marie Shackelford, her stepfather Henry Shackelford, nephew James Chester III, niece LeeAnn Chester. She was born in Louisana and moved to Worcester as a young child. Barbara was a culinary school graduate and received her certification as a wedding and event planner, but chose to work caring for others in the private sector in her later years.

She enjoyed going to Foxwoods playing the slots, playing yahtzee and doing floral arrangements and party decorating for her friends. Barbara, “You will always be our best friend, you know too Much.” You will be sadly missed and thought of often by those who loved and knew you. Barbara’s family would like to thank Holy Trinity Hospice for there support.

Arrangements are private and are under the care of CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice in Barbara’s name.
