Barbara A. Convery, 63, of Spencer, died Wednesday, March 12th in her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against lung cancer.
She leaves her beloved husband of 45 years, Gerald P. Convery, Jr. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Michelle K. Convery of Worcester; daughter, Sandra M. Naples and her husband, Francis of Spencer; son, Stephen M. Convery and his wife, Karen of West Brookfield; daughter, Patrice M. Convery of Whitinsville; a daughter, Barbara A. Sarro and her husband, Paul of Cherry Valley; son, Gerald P. Convery, III and his wife, Colleen of Rutland. She is also survived by her 8 beautiful grandchildren: Tiffany, Katelyn, Kristi, Emma, Erika, Patrick, Alyssa, Erin. She also leaves: brother, Edmond Rocheford and his wife, Gail of Millbury; sister Sandra Leanna and her husband, Gary of Rutland; sister Robin Pasco and her husband, David of Northborough; nieces and nephews. Barbara was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edmund and Barbara (Bigelow) Rocheford of Northborough.
She was a graduate of David Hale Fanning High School, where she was an avid basketball player. She and her husband had recently moved to Spencer after living in Worcester for 62 years. She worked as a hairdresser for 5 years before starting a family in 1964. She dedicated her early years to raising her 6 children before returning to work at Allegro Micro Systems in 1985, where she retired in 2006 after 24 years. Barbara was a wonderful, dedicated mother and enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren – she will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives are inveted to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 4 – 7 P.M. in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Spencer. The funeral will be private on Monday in the funeral home. Donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608
