Astrid M. (Sjoblad) Laramee, 96, of Worcester died on Wednesday, February 1st 2012 in the Christopher House Nursing Home, with her devoted family by her side.
     Her husband of 48 years Romeo A. Laramee died in 2001. Astrid is survived by a daughter, Virginia A. Smith and her husband John of Oldsmar, FL; three sons, Kenneth R. Laramee and his wife Donna of Leicester, MA, Glenn P. Laramee and his wife Debra of Glendale, AZ and Stephen F. Laramee and his wife Patricia of Worcester, MA; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Laramee was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alfred and Ida (Carlson) Sjoblad and is predeceased by her brothers John, Rudy, Edward and Roy Sjoblad. She was also predeceased by her sister Lina Beckman.
     Astrid worked as an inspector for many years at American Optical Company in Southbridge. She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church.
     The family would like to thank the Christopher House for their compassion and wonderful care to their beloved mother.
     The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 4th from the Alfred Roy Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10 AM in the funeral home before the funeral mass.
